Oscar Strasnoy

Recent commissions include "STORIA" , based on the text by Witold Gombrowicz, directed by Galin Stoev, a co-production between Academie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart and Teatro Colon (Chamber Opera Hall) in Buenos Aires.


Born in 1970 in Buenos Aires, Argentina Strasony studied piano, conducting and composition at the Conservatorio di Buenos Aires, the Conservatoire de Paris and the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt.

Strasnoy studied with Guillermo Scarabino, Guy Reibel, Michael Levinas, Gerard Grisey (in Paris), Hans Zender (in Frankfurt) and with John Carene (in London).

Strasnoy won the Prix à l’Unanimité (the first prize at the Conservatoire de Paris) as well as the Prix Special du Jury.

From 1996 until 1998 he was the Music Director of the Orchestre du Crous de Paris.

He has received numerous grants and commissions from the French and Argentinian governments.
